Pinella (or Pinello) is an ancient white-wine variety indigenous to the Veneto region of Italy. Just 25 acres (10 hectares) of the variety exist today in the Colli Euganei hills, near Padua, northeast Italy. Here, the variety is grown and vinified into a number of DOC classified wines: single-variety and blends, still and sparkling, dry and sweet. Traditionally, using the variety in blends has been far more common, but more and more Pinella wines in purezza (varietal) are emerging.
Pinella produces wines that are pale yellow, with a delicate, floral nose reminiscent of jasmine. When vinified alone, its wines are dry, with crisp acidity, yet rich and full in the mouth
