Perdea RARE GRAPE white

Perdea is a white grape variety that is a crossing of Raffiat de Moncade and Chardonnay.

In 2011 the variety covered only five acres (two hectares) of land, albeit across France.

It is a late-ripening and vigorous variety that produces big bunches of small- to medium-sized berries.

Perdea wines are exceedingly rare, but they do show potential. They are generally well perfumed, with good acid, and are best suited to drier wine styles.
