Mostosa is a white berried varietal native to Emlia Romagna but also grown along the Adriatic down to Puglia and also in Umbria and Lazio.  .Its origins are unknown and its diffusion among farmers originates above all in its high productivity. Mostosa is preferably grown on hilly clayey-limestone-sandy soils . It loves well-ventilated sun exposures and is greatly affected by themarine in coastal areas which brings a certain salinity to the grapes.

The wine produced from Mostosa grapes has an intense straw yellow colour, floral, fruity, dry, fresh, full-bodied, not very structured and with little body.(https://www.quattrocalici.it/vitigni/mostosa/)
