Keknyelu (Blue Stem) RARE GRAPE white

The name of the grapevine cultivar ‘Ke´knyelu˝’ has become inseparable from the name of the Badacsony vine region, its fame is well known beyond our frontier as well. This cultivar was known as a poor yielding one, providing top quality wine. The reason of the poor yield is that ‘Ke´knyelu˝’ has a functional female flowers, and because of it, the pollen is sterile. (Discrimination of the grapevine cultivars ‘Picolit’ and ‘Ke´knyelu˝’ with molecular markers - G. Jahnke, J. Korbuly, J. Majer, J. Gyorffyne Molnar)
