Jacquez (Lenoir, Black Spanish) red

The association ‘Vine Memories’ has been working since 1993 to save 78 acres of vineyard in the south of Ardèche. The primary grape type planted in this vineyard is Jacquez. The association is also working to save the typical landscape of terraces. The production is very low, and production does not exceed 20 hectoliters per hectare. During the harvest, the bunches of grapes are selected and pressed and the wine is aged in old Bordeaux casks. These wines have a dark red color and aromas of tobacco and cherries. The production of these wines is threatened by old and outdates legislation.
