The red grape variety (also Kalloniatiko) originates from Greece. The parentage is unknown. The medium to late ripening vine is generally resistant to diseases. Grown on the island of Lesbos, the variety was almost completely wiped out by phylloxera in the 1950s. It was reactivated in 1985 by a single producer.(https://glossary.wein.plus/chidiriotiko)
