Arbane (Weisser Lagler - Historische Rebsorten) RARE GRAPE white

Arbane is a rare white-wine grape variety, now surviving on just a few acres of vineyard in the Cote des Bar district of southern Champagne. (Source: https://www.wine-searcher.com/grape-1139-arbane)

"The lagler came to the Loire through the terrible Magdalene floods (1342 AD). The grape variety was later also called "Arbane" in Champagne as an allusion to an Albanian city south of Tirana. French winemakers still speak of the wine of the Arbane as the “nectar of the aristocrats” with almost religious awe. With us, this noble white wine variety is likely to have spread across today's Burgenland. Together with the Kleinberger and the Adelfränkisch, this noble variety was part of the old Franconian mixed set in the warm phase of the High Middle Ages. Until 2007 it was considered extinct."
