Rare Italian varietal grown in Veneto producing deep red wines that are quite enjoyable at meal's end or on their own afterwards.
Ancella nera is a rare grape variety derived from ANCELOTTA.
The vine was brought to the area by the Austrians when part of the Veneto region was under their dominion. There are only a few rows left.
Casa Baccichetto - www.baccichetto.it - has taken care of and maintained 8 rows with vines aged between 70 and 80 years. The production yield is low. (Umberto Teot, vinonovo@hotmail.it)
