RARE GRAPE VARIETAL RESOURCE

Ahmeur bou Ahmeur is a black-skinned grape grown in Algeria for use both as a table grape and for making red wines.The vineyards of Algeria are located in the Hauts Plateaux region along the coast towards the border with Morocco. The climate is Mediterranean and not unlike that of southern Spain with mild winters and hot, dry summers. In this warm, dry climate grapes need to be drought-tolerant and able to retain high acidity to remain suitable for quality winemaking purposes.
